Sydney based artist, Brad Eastman, aka “Beastman” is one of Australia’s most widely recognized emerging artists. His distinct graphic aesthetic uses bold, saturated colors outlined with heavy black strokes. Beastman’s refined technique depict monstrous creatures reminiscent of a child’s imagination. Many of Beastman’s creatures stare back at the viewer with open eyes and razor-toothed mouths ready to devour.
In each of Beastman’s works there is a strong vertical line that reflects the composition into a mirror image creating balance and symmetry. Beastman’s website states that he is “influenced by the beauty and symbolism behind nature’s repetitive geometric patterns and its eternal struggle against man-made adversities.”
In addition to Beastman’s multitude of semi-permanent paintings on the sides of buildings and other public walls, Beastman has been featured in numerous exhibits throughout Australia, London, Berlin and New Zealand. He has designed t-shirts, skateboards and boardshorts, and several brands, such as Element, Folklore, and Mingo Lamberti have commissioned graphics from him. If that weren’t enough to keep this young prolific artist busy, Beastman is also the founder and editor of the online art publication [we AREtheIMAGEmakers].
